Mykonos has something to appeal to everyone’s taste and trip itinerary.  Honeymooners, there are endless beaches, romantic dinners and selfie locations to create memories that will last forever.  Guys trip, Mykonos has nightlife that goes toe to toe with many other destinations in Europe and the world.  Girls trip, hit the wineries, spa’s, and of course the secluded (or party!) beaches.  Family vacation, there are water activities to keep the kids active but also great value restaurants and hotels to not break the bank.
Nightlife: Mykonos town has many hidden bars which can make an entire night fun to bar hop.  Start by the windmill and work your way back into the heart of town.  Try getting lost and just bouncing around their side streets where everyone makes you feel welcome.  If you’re looking for a more heart pounding nightlife experience head over to Cavo Paradiso which is routinely ranked a Top 100 club in the world.  Be prepared for a LATE night.  Most people don’t arrive until at least 1:30-2:30am with the main DJ’s playing until well after 5:00am.  Try and test your nocturnal nature and last until the sun rises.  The parties in Mykonos aren’t night exclusive. If you’re looking for some day time drinking then Super Paradise Beach is your spot.  This might be the wildest place to go in Mykonos.  Its the epicenter of their gay community partying.  No matter your sexual orientation it is a wild place to experience.  The closer your table is to inside the crazier it is, so start at the beach and work your way in.
Overall: I’ve personally gone to Mykonos twice, once with my family and once with a couple.  I had a great time and drastically different time with each experience.  There are so many beaches and restaurants on Mykonos that even 2 seven week trips weren’t enough.  The best way to get around Mykonos is to rent a car and hit as many beaches as you can because each is drastically different.  The only downside to Mykonos is it can be VERY windy so make sure you check with your concierge about which beach is best to go to depending on the wind but generally speaking Elia and Psarou are fairly sheltered.  While you’re there, try living like a Greek and make dinner reservations around 10:30-11:30pm and hit the club scene once to try and see the sun rise.  No doubt you’ll leave Mykonos wanting more so check back for our next Greek island guide.
