It has a vast array of culture and an endless supply of things to do.  It has a fairly mild climate which makes it a year round destination. The recommended time to go is the beginning through end of their summer(Late November Early May).  The major downside most American’s and Non-Europeans face is: How to get to Cape Town? The most cost efficient ways are generally through the Arab Nations (Dubai / Abu Dhabi / Qatar), Western Europe (London / Amsterdam / Frankfurt) or via Atlanta, New York, Washington DC. I would search through Dubai (Emirates), London (Virgin / South African / British), Amsterdam (KLM), Washington DC (Ethiopian via Addis Ababa) to start.
Nightlife: Cape Town has WIDE variety of nightlife but from clubs (ERA, Shimmy Beach) to live music (The Assembly) to chill bars (Wharf area / Camps Bay).  You can’t go wrong in Cape Town.
Overall: I recommend everyone to visit Cape Town once in their life.  It has something to appeal to everyone and will quickly open to your eyes to the wide varieties of life in this world.  If this is your first time to Africa it is a great easy transition.  If you do the shark dive (which is a must), be sure to take it all in. The drive to that area of Cape Town goes through the shanties which are a true experience for African life. The Royal Cape Golf Club is over 100 years old and is one of the most beautiful backdrops you will experience while golfing.  For honeymooners, South Africa is known for its wine and you can experience their wineries via an ATV or Segway tour.  For the adventurous folk after you’ve hiked or taken the gondola to the top of table mountain you can rappel down which is one of the best ways to take in the panoramic view. Don’t forget to check out Cape of Good Hope and spend a few minutes reflecting on the countless ships that have passed that windy turn over hundreds of years.
